In Charting The Lost Continent Poetry And Other Discoveries, poet and traveler Robert Pinsky takes us on a journey to Antarctica, a continent of ice and snow, of penguins and seals, of whales and icebergs. But Antarctica is also a continent of mystery, a place where the past and the future collide.

Pinsky's poems are lyrical and evocative, and they capture the beauty and wonder of this remote and mysterious continent. He writes of the "white wilderness" of Antarctica, of the "icebergs like cathedrals" and the "penguins like black-and-white clowns." He also writes of the dangers of Antarctica, of the "crevasses hidden beneath the snow" and the "winds that can strip you to the bone." But Pinsky's poems are not just about the natural beauty of Antarctica. They are also about the continent's history and its importance to our planet.
