As a doctoral student at the University of Northern Colorado, I am constantly looking for ways to improve my understanding of the complex issues facing education today. When I came across Getting Ready for College, Careers, and the Common Core, I was immediately drawn to its promise of providing a synthesis of research and practice from both education and industry. I was not disappointed.

The book begins by laying out a clear and concise vision of college and career readiness. This vision is based on the belief that all students have the potential to succeed in college and careers, and that it is the responsibility of schools to provide them with the support and opportunities they need to do so.
