The definitive history of the iconic record label that helped define the sound of Irish music in the 1980s and 1990s.

Hooleygan Music Mayhem was founded in 1984 by Terry Hooley, a former DJ and music journalist. The label quickly became known for its eclectic roster of artists, which included The Pogues, The Cranberries, Sinéad O'Connor, and Therapy?.

Hooleygan's artists were often characterized by their raw energy and passion, and their music reflected the changing political and social landscape of Ireland in the 1980s and 1990s. The label's releases were often controversial, but they also helped to raise awareness of important issues such as the Troubles in Northern Ireland and the AIDS crisis.

In this definitive history of Hooleygan Music Mayhem, author John Robb tells the story of the label's rise to prominence and its eventual decline. Robb draws on interviews with Terry Hooley and many of the label's artists to create a vivid and engrossing account of one of the most important record labels in Irish music history.

Hooleygan Music Mayhem: Good Vibrations is a must-read for fans of Irish music and anyone interested in the history of popular music. It is a fascinating and inspiring story of a label that helped to shape the sound of a generation.
