Now, in Conjure, acclaimed biographer Bernard O'Donoghue presents the first comprehensive account of Donaghy's life and work. Drawing on extensive research and interviews with Donaghy's friends, family, and colleagues, O'Donoghue paints a vivid portrait of the man and his art.

We follow Donaghy from his childhood in Dublin to his early years in London, where he worked as a journalist and editor. We witness his struggles with alcoholism and depression, as well as his triumphs as a poet. And we explore the deep connections between his life and his work, as he grapples with issues of identity, sexuality, and the nature of creativity.

Conjure is not only a biography of a great poet but also a meditation on the nature of poetry itself. O'Donoghue shows us how Donaghy's work is both personal and universal, speaking to the human experience in all its complexity and beauty.

With its lyrical prose and insightful analysis, Conjure is a must-read for anyone interested in the life and work of Michael Donaghy. It is a book that will challenge, inspire, and ultimately leave you in awe of the power of poetry.
