Costa Rica is a land of stunning natural beauty, rich culture, and friendly people. It's a place where you can relax on pristine beaches, explore lush rainforests, and encounter exotic wildlife. But it's also a place where things don't always go according to plan.

In this book, I share my experiences of living and traveling in Costa Rica. I'll take you on a journey from the moment I first arrived in this beautiful country to the day I finally left, two years later. Along the way, I'll share the highs and lows of my time there, the challenges I faced, and the lessons I learned.

Getting To Costa Rica

My journey to Costa Rica began with a long and bumpy bus ride from Nicaragua. I had been traveling for several months and was eager to reach my final destination. When I finally arrived in Costa Rica, I was immediately struck by the beauty of the country. The air was clean and fresh, the vegetation was lush and green, and the people were warm and welcoming.

I spent my first few weeks in Costa Rica exploring the capital city of San José. I visited museums, markets, and parks. I also took a day trip to the nearby Poás Volcano, which is one of the most active volcanoes in the world.

After a few weeks in San José, I decided to head to the beach. I took a bus to the Pacific coast and spent several days relaxing on the beautiful beaches of Manuel Antonio. I swam in the warm waters, sunbathed on the white sand, and enjoyed the stunning sunsets.

Stuck In Costa Rica

After a few months of traveling around Costa Rica, I decided to stay for a while. I found a job teaching English in a small town on the Caribbean coast. I enjoyed my job and made many friends. However, after a year, I started to feel restless. I wanted to see more of the country and experience different things.

I decided to quit my job and travel around Costa Rica for a few months. I visited the northern region of the country, which is home to rainforests, volcanoes, and hot springs. I also spent time on the Osa Peninsula, which is one of the most biodiverse places on Earth.

I had an amazing time traveling around Costa Rica. I saw incredible things and met wonderful people. However, after a few months, I started to miss my family and friends back home. I also started to run out of money.

I decided it was time to go home. I said goodbye to my friends and boarded a plane back to the United States.

My time in Costa Rica was an unforgettable experience. I saw amazing things, met wonderful people, and learned a lot about myself. I'm grateful for the opportunity to have lived and traveled in this beautiful country.

If you're thinking about traveling to Costa Rica, I highly recommend it. It's a place that has something to offer everyone. Whether you're looking for adventure, relaxation, or culture, you'll find it in Costa Rica.

Just be prepared for the unexpected. Things don't always go according to plan in Costa Rica. But that's part of the fun.
